The National Composites Centre (NCC) have made significant progress to deliver a step-change in the volume of composite material that can be deposited at any given time using an automated deposition system provided by Loop Technology with consortium partners Coriolis and Güdel.
Mark Bowering, NCC’s Chief Engineer for Civil Air Structures says: “In development trials, our ground-breaking automated deposition system is on track to deliver a dry-fibre deposition rate in excess of 350kg per hour – which would beat our original target of 200kg per hour… This milestone marks a huge leap forward in composites manufacturing.”
